I’ve written about 19,300 words, and I’ve discovered something: I am not as prepared to write a book as I thought I was. I know what will happen in my book, and what I’ve written is written well. But I suddenly find myself unable to make the next connections in my book. I need to study my craft more by trying to read 100 pages of a mystery book every day. I’m not going to write on my book for a few weeks, so I have plenty of time to study up on how a mystery should be written.
